In a span of 3 years, with a budget of over 13 billion Dhs, Legoland, Motiongate Dubai and Bollywood Parks has opened and was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Sharuhk Khan and Hrithrik Roshan were present. Also seen during the inauguration was a musical performance from the Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-winning composer Alan Menken who has composed scores for classics like Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. 200 children from various foundations including “Make a Wish” and over 1,500 guests were seen attending the event. 150 media representatives were present to witness the avant-garde shows. The Bollywood Parks is said to be first-of-its-kind which features everything Bollywood, while Legoland is a part of a themed chained of parks based on the popular construction toys. Motiongate Dubai is inspired by Hollywood movies which will feature attractions from Dreamworks Animation, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate and the Smurfs. The entirety of the parks’ venue is connected by Riverland Dubai which is a one of a kind themed retail and dining district. Lapita, a four-star Polynesian themed family hotel which is a part of the Marriot has also been constructed inside the park for international tourists. While it had been truly grand during its launching, it is only the first phase of the Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is expected to be completed by 2019.
